Dr. Lucas is originally from Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from the College of William and Mary pre-med with a major in Art History in 2010. She spent a year working in the Emergency Department at Inova Fairfax in Northern Virginia before heading to the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA for medical school. She earned her Medical Degree in 2015 and then moved to Charleston to complete her residency in Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Lucas loves the variety of General Pediatrics but has specific interests in Lactation and Infant Nutrition, Adolescent Care, Mental and Behavioral Health, and the care of children with chronic medical complexity.
In her spare time, Dr. Lucas enjoys going to the beach, exploring Charleston, running, going to barre workout classes, and spending time with her family, including her husband, Ben, and their lab, Chloe. Lauren and Ben are expecting a baby boy Summer 2018.
