Having a baby is a miraculous and life-changing event. We are here to help you cherish every moment of those first few months! Our family of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, and staff cannot wait to meet and welcome your family.
We would love to meet you before your baby arrives to answer any questions you may have about our practice, the care your little one will receive here, and any other questions about what to expect when your baby is born. Please call us to set up a time to stop by and meet with a pediatrician.

DELIVERY DAY
The hospital will ask you to specify a pediatrician for your child on delivery day. If you deliver at one of the three hospitals where our pediatricians round in the newborn nurseries, we will visit you and your new baby within the first 24 hours of life.
Typically, you and your baby will be seen at our Newborn Centers of Charleston within the first three days after discharge from the hospital.
We are open 7 days a week so finding a convenient appointment will be easy.

NEWBORN CENTERS OF CHARLESTON
The Newborn Centers of Charleston are dedicated solely to the care of our youngest patients; it's a special location where every aspect is focused on you and your new baby.
Our Newborn Centers are staffed with pediatric providers and staff that have a specific interest in neonatal health.
We offer well-baby checks, lactation support, feeding assistance, labs, and more in one comfortable, convenient location. We look forward to helping you on your journey!

CIRCUMCISION
If you request a circumcision on your newborn boy, our providers will perform the procedure in the hospital.
If the child is covered under Absolute Total Care, South Carolina Solutions, or Medicaid Fee-For-Service, please contact our office prior to delivery to set up a payment arrangement if you desire a circumcision for your son.
Coastal Pediatric Associates will perform circumcisions in our offices for our established patients. Please contact our office if you have additional questions.

INSURANCE
For newborns, you have thirty days to enroll your child under your health insurance policy. Please make sure your carrier knows the name of your chosen pediatrician at Coastal Pediatric Associates.

Along with the joy of giving birth to a baby, many mothers experience some kind of emotional change. This may range from baby blues to clinical depression.
